Haters and Lovers are the same by Nacht-Vico Haters and Lovers are the same by Nacht-Vico
There is something fun about a lot of fandom's (and I mean ANY fandom, like Anime/Manga, cartoons, books, anything)
When you have a positive opinion about something, you're all nice and you're expressing "your right to have an opinion".
When you opinion is negative, then you're a heartless hater, you get the "Don't like, don't look" shit, and you can stick your "right to have an opinion" where I think.
It doesn't even matter if you are being polite and open minded, if you don't love something, then you're an hater.
Oh, and it doesn't matter if you a stupid douchebag neither, you can insult people as much as you want, as long as you're a lover, you're cool.

Seriously? Negative and Positive opinions are the same.
Some "lovers"/"haters" will be cool about it and be open-minded. Other "lovers"/"haters" will be fucking annoying about their opinion and the shit they like/hate.
Stop harassing people everytime they have a negative opinion, this is annoying. Most "haters" are just expressing their opinions, just like all the other cool kids saying they like random stuff.

:iconbravoplz: Ha ha, a lot of anime fans CAN be nuts and closed-minded when it comes to animation. Some idiot on Tumblr even said on Toonami, "Why are there cartoons with it? I only want anime...." It's for both American and Japanese animation, idiots. I apologize for the insanity of the anime fanbase. I've gotten called names because I like anime others don't, because I dislike characters others like, or just because (gasp!) I dislike an anime. What a terrible sin! Seriously, the fans can be nuts. Especially the Hetalia fans. Whew....it's just fiction at the end of the day, guys, nothing to get too serious over.

Jeez it's almost like going into a group full of people that like something and declaring you hate it grants you a negative response. Likewise with trying to convince people how great something is when they already hate it. Of course you have the right to express your opinion, even if it is wrong, but that doesn't grant you amnesty from people that don't like what you have to say.

The best kind of opinion to have is slight preference mixed with neutral understanding. Take InuYasha for example. Some people are rabid fans, others are rabid haters. Both have their points in certain regards, but neither group will admit to the points made by the other.
Is it a decent show? Yes.
Is it the best show? Not really.
Can you make a drinking game involving every time "INUYASHA" is shouted? Yes, but you'd be drunk way too soon.

Make sense?

Anime. There might be manga out there, but who knows?
If you're going to watch it, try watching the Japanese audio with English subtitles. The English dub is... dreadful.

It was made from the manga. Yeah, it is pretty mediocre, but it was first anime I ever watched, & it was the shit when I was younger.

I agree with you so much! In Hetalia, if you don't support X pairing Y pairing will come after you, it's horrible. You could say that about any fandom, though. Which is rather sad.

On a different topic, the writing on the stamps kinda hard to read. If you made it a little bigger, or changed the font, it would be a lot easier to read.

Agree, I'm not a pairing fan at all, and something people being so immature about it is really boring.

Yeah, I think it's too small too, but I wanted it to be on one frame only, if I make it bigger, I need to animate... I will see what I can do ^^"

Oh, my gosh, this.

Though, it's not the sane lovers/haters that annoy me. It's the "hardcore" haters who bash super fanatics without realizing just how stupid and hypocritical they sound getting worked up over a fandom.

I feel the same way! Once I gave a negative opinion on a pairing because it involved a guy who was already married and I don't find it entertaining to watch spouses cheat, and people frowned at me for it. I mean, I can't even not like something in fandom because it's something that's bad for good reason? Come on, fans. I don't see how not liking affairs is a bad thing or makes me a 'hater' really.

No problem :) and I'm a dudette by the way :giggle:. I like pairings and I can see why you don't  Seriously, shipping wars, crack, pairings that involve cheating or abuse, pairings based on fetishism... Some pairings are good and clean, and as a romantic, I still like pairings for that reason, but I agree that it has a dark side which most people avoid for good reason.

It depends on what the opinion is about. If its about somebody's artwork, and it is stated in a way that is NOT constructive criticism, there is no point in posting it except to be a douchebag. And yes, tv shows and music count as artwork.

Now, I'm not saying you shouldn't be allowed to say "I personally dislike Harry Potter," just that it'd be more purposeful and constructive to say "I really enjoy South Park." However, its just a dick move to say, "The Colbert Report is the most stupid, vile and idiotic show that's ever been made and people who like it are all insane retards."

People use the 'its just an opinion' thing to make there rude behavior acceptable.

Why is it more constructive to say "I like something" than "I dislike something"? It's the same thing, it's an opinion, the fact that it is postitive or negative doesn't change anything. Saying you hate something without any reason is pretty stupid, but it is stupid as well to say you "OMG LOVE" something without giving any argument.

Actually, I've seen more rude and narrow-minded people on the "lover" side. Some people can be really mean when you don't like their favourite stuff. However, I have the opportunity to discuss with a lot of open-minded "haters". So both side are the same. Some people are able to have a discussion with you, other are just immature brats.

Because if it is positive, it will get positive results; ie the artwork improves. However, negatives either don't have any results, or they have negative ones; ie artwork stops and progress isn't made.

Generally, when people love something, they do have reasons and usually they talk about them. For instance, when people love something like the Hunger Games, they talk about he characters they love and why they are so awesome. Of course, depending on where you're expressing your love, you often will just leave it without an explanation, because one isn;t necessary,

If somebody who loves something is being 'mean' to somebody who doesn't like what they do, they are not being positive, they are being negative and a hater, simply of something other than the main subject matter, which I also find unconstructive.

I kinda get your point, but I still disagree. I've seen way more beautiful and constructed atwork made by people who disliked the main subject than some really horrible stuff (aka badly drawn/written porn, stolen artwork) made by the fans. By drawing/writing about something you don't like, you can also makes something great, and it's always great to have the opportunity to discuss about it.
Someone who don't like Hunger Games (a book, if I'm correct) can talk about it as well as someone who like it. Even if you don't like the main subject, you still can like a few things about it, like one of the characters... Same for people who like something, yet who dislike something about it (as an example, I like that Fullmetal Alchemist books, but I dislike the main character). World isn't all black and white. Negative and positive perfectly mix ;)

I'm not talking about fan art, I'm talking about the effect it has on the actual artist and their work. Like I said, constructive critisism is fine, but hating isn't going to change anything. Positive remarks, however, encourage productivity and growth.

But you can hate something and still give a constructive critic. I agree with you, someone who just say "BAAW, IT SUCKS I HATE IT GO AND DIE" is stupid. But a positive one who say "OMG ITS CUTE I LOVE IT" is stupid and doesn't encourage anything as well. Or maybe it's just me. I just tend to think this is way more interesting to get a critic about what is wrong in your production than a "i love it" comment, which is useless.

Telling somebody their artwork is good often gives them confidence to keep drawing. Saying its terrible will cause them to stop and give up.

Saying you hate someone's work because of x, y, and z generally isn't going to get them to take you seriously or want to keep trying. Saying you think somebodies work is good and has potential, but that they could improve on x, y, and z will make encourage them to draw more and better the things that need to be changed.

It works the same way that reinforcement works much better and for much longer than punishment.

Then those people will never be artist. When you're an artist, you get critics. And critics are supposed to help you to improve. And for that, they are supposed to point out what is wrong in the picture/text/photo/whatever.
Well, now, I guess it depends the personn, but I will not be motivated by some "OMG THAT'S SO COOL" comments. They are empty to me. Someone who takes time to critize my work, even if he is harsh, even if he says it's shit, has more value to me. But now, I'm not an artist. So I don't know ;)
